Main Gallery of Nature Photos Here is my main gallery of wildlife, insect and nature photos. All of these were taken on Providenciales. Most of the larger wading birds shown here were photographed in the Northwest Point Pond Nature Reserve. This nature reserve has by far the highest populations of herons, egrets, stilts, and terns than any other area on Providenciales. The inaccessible interior pond in the nature reserve is also an important site for the critically endangered West Indian Whistling Duck. Nearly all of the close-up and smaller birds on this page were photographed in the center area of Providenciales, which has the dry scrub brush style terrain that covers most of the Turks and Caicos Islands. On this page you might notice multiple photographs of the same species of bird or insect. This simply reflects what I encounter when photographing in the field. The orange Gulf Fritillary butterfly is found in far greater numbers on Providenciales than any other butterfly, and the American Kestrel shown here a few times is the only raptor that I commonly see on Providenciales.
